Redevelopment Update June 2014

posted Jul 20, 2014, 3:22 PM by WebAdmin Beth Israel   [ updated Jul 20, 2014, 3:22 PM by BI Programs ]

Our members are responding with increases in their pledges and some new ones too.

Our new total for the campaign is: $16,033,000

Please, keep those pledges coming and, if possible, please advance your pledge payments.

We experienced a brief replay of Noah’s Ark, last Sunday, as the brief heavy rainstorm overwhelmed the city sewers causing havoc with our lower level. Water flooded in from the north and south causing substantial damage. The full effects are now being assessed with the construction insurers, claim investigator, restoration services, contractors and architects. We do know that significant materials and finished work, including all the flooring, will have to be replaced. We also will be looking at how we can mitigate possible future occurrences.

We do not have enough information yet but are hopeful that are building occupancy and September events will not be delayed. There may however be some issues affecting use of the lower level that could delay our office and program transition back to the BI. It will be a couple of weeks before an update on this can be provided.
