Gesher Club Curriculum

This program for 4-5 year olds is gently taught through Music, Drama, Arts and Crafts and Creative Play.

Holidays:
Basic Knowledge of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Hannukah, Tu B’Shvat, Purim, Pesach, Lag Ba’Omer, Shavuot, Yom Yerushalayim, and Yom Ha’Atzmaut

The children will enjoy celebrating holidays; learning synagogue and home rituals,having fun with class friends singing and dancing.

Each Holiday is taught through the lens of the ethical values of: Honoring Parents, Sacred Time, Sacred Space and Friendship.

Foods are symbols:
Why we eat the foods we do.

Shabbat:
The Erev Shabbat (Friday night) home Ritual of Blessings and Songs for Shabbat including Shabbat Shalom.

Torah:
Creation, Noach, Baby Moses, Joseph, 10 Commandments

Tfillah (Prayer):
Shma, Modeh Ani, Ma Tovu,Torah Torah, Oseh Shalom.

Hebrew Language:
Vocabulary related to Holidays, colors, family, places in the school, synagogue, the seasons, colors.

Tzedakah:
Understanding the importance and meaning

History/ Israel:
The Post Pesach Special Unit will Focus on Beaches in Israel: The Mediterranean Sea, The Dead Sea,
The Kinneret, The Red Sea.
