There are so many ways to get involved in the Beth Israel community. Here are just a few:

We have programs throughout the year for young families (with children roughly 0-5), children and teenagers at every age level, young adults, retired adults, and everyone in between! There are often opportunities to get involved in planning these activities. Please see our staff page to learn about the staff members who focus on the different parts of our community, and feel free to contact them. If you want to get involved but you’re unsure how to, please don’t hesitate to contact Rabbi Adam Stein or Tovah Carr, manager of member relations.

Another great way to get involved is through our daily, Shabbat, and holiday services. We have morning and evening services every day of the year, and the Sunday and weekday services are great opportunities to join and support an intimate group which often includes several congregants saying kaddish for a loved one during the first week, month, or year of mourning, and others who are observing a yartzeit on the anniversary of a loved one’s passing. The weekday services are also a great place to learn and get experience leading services. Please contact our Ba’alat Tefillah, Debby Fenson, if you’d like to explore that opportunity. Our Shabbat and holiday services often feature lay leaders as well and Debby (or Rabbi Stein) would be happy to work with you to learn more about participating and leading those services, or having roles such as gabbai and parnass, those who help with the Torah reading and make the services run.
