Selling Hametz

A Passover Message from Rabbi Jonathan Infeld

Please consider making a donation to the Jewish Family Service Agency for their Ma'ot Chittim campaign in order to insure that the entire Jewish community of the Lower Mainland will have food to eat this coming Passover.

If possible, all Hametz - good not acceptable during Passover, and materials containing such unacceptable food - should be destroyed or given away before the holiday begins. Should this be impossible or cause financial strain, the hametz may be stored in such a way that you are sure not to use it during the holiday and its actual ownership is transferred to a non-Jew  until the holiday ends.  In order to fulfill the Jewish precept of not owning any hametz during Passover, please fill out the document linked below and mail or bring it to Rabbi Infeld at the BI office at the JCC not later than April 11, 2014.
