BUILDING THE FUTURE THROUGH LEGACY GIVING
At Beth Israel, we are committed to strengthening every aspect of Jewish life—from worship and Torah study to educational, religious, and social programs for all ages, as well as life cycle events.
As we honor our past and look to the future, we invite you to make a lasting impact on our community through legacy giving.
This transformative gift will help ensure that the values, teachings, and programs of our synagogue continue to thrive for generations to come.
By contributing to our endowment fund, you support both our present and our future.
Your gift will sustain our vibrant community and help fund essential services, ensuring Beth Israel remains a pillar of Jewish life for years to come.

TESTIMONIALS
Daniella and I have a deep, multi-generational connection to the Beth Israel Synagogue (BI). My parents arrived in Vancouver in 1977 and immediately joined the BI. Before Daniella and I joined, we used the BI facilities for the Brit Mila of our two sons. We joined in the early 1990s, our sons had bar mitzvahs there and we both were on the BI Board. One son’s wedding was officiated by a BI Rabbi. We have attended BI holiday and shabbat services, programs and speaker events, gala fundraisers and community wide programs throughout the decades. We participate in BI services and enjoy kiddush lunches and special event dinners.
If we don’t invest in the BI’s future, the next generation might not have the opportunity to have the BI enrich their lives as it has enriched ours. Those who went before us bought the land, built a building and created the BI infrastructure that we have enjoyed. It’s our responsibility to do the same for future generations, and leaving a bequest in our Will is the easiest way to do it.
Just as I provide a bequest for my children and grandchildren in my Will, I am proud to provide a bequest for a spiritual and community home at BI for future generations of the Vancouver Jewish community.

Beth Israel has always been part of Heather’s life and has been part of Jonathan’s life ever since arriving in Vancouver. We were married at BI, our two sons were bar mitzvahed there, and we have celebrated many family life cycle events and countless Yom Tovim and Shabbatot there.
BI provided a community for us, for joyous occasions and sad times, for celebrations of life and for times of mourning. We are making a legacy gift to ensure that BI survives and thrives for the coming generations, to be a part of the Jewish lives that will come after us.

As Jews, we are fortunate to be part of a community that has stood the test of time, a
community bound together by traditions and values that have enriched our lives for
generations. We come together in celebration and in sorrow, supporting one another
through life’s milestones and challenges. These shared moments strengthen our bonds
and keep us rooted in our faith, reminding us of the importance of community, continuity,
and care for one another.Candace and I recognize that we have a responsibility to ensure that these values are
passed down to future generations. It’s not just about preserving a tradition—it’s about
enabling the next generation to experience the same sense of belonging, purpose, and
meaning that we have enjoyed. Supporting Beth Israel is one way we can give back to the
community that has given so much to us. It has been a place of learning, support, and
connection, and we want to ensure it remains a place where future generations can
continue to gather, grow, and thrive.By committing to the Beth Israel Legacy Fund, we are making an investment in the future—
a future where our children, grandchildren, and all who come after us will continue to find
strength and solace within this incredible community. We hope our example will inspire
others to do the same, ensuring that Beth Israel’s legacy lives on for years to come.Alan and Candace Kwinter
